Scott Alario, Olivier Catté, Akira Ikezoe

The gallery is delighted to invite friend and distinguished colleague Michelle Y. Loh to select works for our viewing room for the month of November. Michelle was asked to pair works by one of the gallery’s artists with works by artists of her choice from outside the gallery. We are happy to host this opportunity for experimentation and thank Michelle and the artists for being a part of this project.

Scott Alario (b. 1983 New Haven, CT) received a MFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2013 and a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art in 2006. His work has been discussed in The New Yorker, American Photo, Collector Daily, Time Lightbox, and Vice.com, and is included in the collection of the RISD Museum, Providence, RI, among others.

Olivier Catté (b. 1957 Rouen, France) currently lives and works in Rouen. His work is held in the collection of the Picasso Foundation, and is shown at various galleries in Paris, Brussels and Mexico City.

Akira Ikezoe (b. in 1979 Kochi, Japan) received his BA from the Tama Art University in Tokyo, Japan. His work is included in the collection of The Berezdivin Collection, Puerto Rico; Frac Normandie Caen, France; 1800 Tequila Collection, Mexico; JaPigozzi Collection, Switzerland among others. Recent solo exhibitions include Proyectos Ultravioleta at Frieze Art Fair, NY; Drawing at Ise Cultural Foundation, NY. He currently lives and works in New York.

Michelle Loh

Michelle Y. Loh is a New York based art advisor, gallery director, and curator. In 2017, Loh established Boers-Li Gallery’s New York space on East 81st Street. She managed the gallery and represented Boers-Li NY at international art fairs including Frieze New York Frieze Masters London, Art Basel Miami, Art Basel Hong Kong, and FIAC in Paris. Loh has also curated museum exhibitions including at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Museum of Chinese in America in New York, and Today Art Museum in Beijing as well as at Christie’s New York and the Ping Yao International Photo Festival.

Loh has lectured on contemporary Asian art at Columbia University, Pace University, the New York Academy of Art and other academic and cultural institutions. Loh also serves on the Board of Directors of the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts and on the artists’ selection committee for the Watermill Center’s annual benefit auction.
